I've been meaning to do this for a while. This com has been inactive for over a year at this point. But even if it were active, I just have no time to manage/advertise/etc it the way I want to. So I'm officially closing it.

If someone wants to take over and bring it back to life then message me and we will see. But otherwise I'll just stay as the official mod (though I won't be moderating it) so it can stay up as an archive.

It was fun times. Thanks all :)

-Is this your first fursuit or do you have experience with fursuits?
I have a fursuit. This is my first experience with a bodysuit however.
--Please answer the following using a scale of 1 -5, 5 meaning completely satisfied, 4 meaning somewhat satisfied, 3 meaning neutral, 2 meaning somewhat dissatisfied, and 1 meaning completing dissatisfied.
Please add details to explain your rating, and take off points where appropriate.--
Body:
-How satisfied are you with how the body fits? Is it comfortable to wear? Does it allow for good movement?(1-5):
4
It fits great. When I put the digigrade padding inside the legs however, the legs and the crotch area becomes too tight and I get worried that some seams may rip.
However, the legs were a bit too short and I could feel them riding up whenever I sat down or walked. I had Balto Woof lengthen the legs at Anthrocon.
-How satisfied are you with the quality and durability of the body? Are the seams durable?(1-5):
2
The fur is great, no worries there.
The sewing however seems to have been rushed as I noticed a hole the first time I put it on and seems to have been sewn once with a cheap thread. I noticed a second hole after I wore it on Friday at Anthrocon.
In order to prevent anymore holes or popped seams from appearing, Balto Woof kindly offered to re-sew the seams and holes for me. It was a temporary fix however, and I have found a third hole one day when I washed it.
The digigrade padding is a bit iffy. The padding is two homemade pillow-like things I stuff down into the legs of the bodysuit. When I do so, it becomes incredibly tight in the groin and thigh area, and makes me nervous and feel like the seams are gonna rip while the digigrade is in place. Because of this issue I have to wear the suit plantigrade even though I initially wanted digigrade to begin with. :/
-How satisfied are you with the selection of colors and material? Does it match the concept art? (1-5):
5
Matches perfectly to what I wanted. She even used the same tan fur that :linkgrowly: had used on my fursuit head.
Visual Aspects:
-How satisfied are you with how closely the suit matched the concept art? (1-5):
3
She did a dropped crotch on my suit but it wasn't as low as I had hoped it would be. I was wanting the seat of the suit to be a lot lower. I also wanted more padded digigrade hips and not just pillow inserts.
-How satisfied are you with the consistency of your suit to the makers style? (1-5):
5
No complaints here.
Construction Aspect:
-How satisfied are you with the overall quality? Are all the seams durable? Has anything fallen apart?(1-5):
3
Seams have popped and two holes appeared, and the legs weren't long enough. The legs have been lengthened but the sewing is sub-par and I have found another hole.
-How satisfied are you with how well everything fits together and matches up? (1-5):
5
Matches up to my head perfectly.
Communication Aspect:
-How satisfied are you with how easy it was to initially contact the maker? Did they take an unreasonable long time to respond?(1-5):
4
She didn't show me any WIP images until after the bodysuit was completely sewn together. But other than that she would reply almost immediately to my text messages (we communicated thru texting).
-How satisfied are you with the response time from the maker? (1-5):
5
No complaints here.
-How satisfied are you with the level of professionalism and friendliness of the maker? Were they pleasant to work with? (1-5):
3
I wish she could have shown me more WIP images but other than that she was very sweet, upbeat, and friendly. Was not rude to me at all.
Overall:
-How satisfied are you with how the deadline was met for completion of your project? Were any deadlines missed or was it done early? (1-5):
2
It arrived at my house the day I had to leave for Anthrocon.
-How satisfied are you with the overall quality of your project? (1-5):
4
Other than the seams popping I'm really happy with what I've received. I've gotten a lot of compliments on it.
-How satisfied are you with the overall customer service with the maker? (1-5):
4
Would commission again.
-Describe your Experience. Pros, Cons, or any comments:
Haven't had any problems with her. I think maybe the problems that came from it was because it was a rushed commission to be completed in time for Anthrocon. But yeah, I totally love the bodysuit and I've gotten so many compliments on it. Other than some sewing problems and the digigrade not working, she did really great on it.

New, completed late April 2012

Visual Aspect (does it match the concept art? Is it consistent with other items the maker has produced? Is it visually pleasing overall?):

5

Faruku's previous works have always been a real pleasure for me to see, so when I made the decision to have a more realistic take on my hyenasaurus (spotted hyena/spino hybrid) character, I knew immediately she was the one for the job.

Visually this head is simply stunning, and exactly how I envision my fursona to look if she were suddenly a real animal. Faruku got everything spot on, even down to the double canines in the top jaw (yes, she's meant to be a bit snaggle-toothed a la spinosaurids) and the little rip in the right ear. Even the detail on the hand painted eyes looks fantastic (can't get a close-up pic at the moment to show), and eerily realistic.

The eyes are also LED as I'd requested, and glow a nice amber color (the switch being in a velcro patch under the mohawk) when switched on.

The mohawk is kanekalon fiber, which is a material used for hair extensions and such, and can be styled much like actual hair (in fact, Faruku's mother, who is a hair stylist, styled the mohawk for me prior to shipping out!). Visually it looks far more stunning than most fur fabric mohawks I've seen.

I requested for her expression to be sort of a neutral, relaxed expression, which she nailed perfectly here.

What I am most impressed with is the actual shape of the face, which is clearly spotted hyena-esque as opposed to most other hyena heads out there which tend to have a very canine look to them. Faruku even voiced her concern before starting my head that she did not want it to look dog-like, and she most definitely pulled it off!

Service Aspect (Deadlines. Communication. Little extras.):

5

I commissioned this head back in October of 2011, with the starting date being sometime around January as this is when I made the final payment and she could start working on it. I did not have a specific deadline, so that wasn't an issue.

Faruku was very prompt in responding to my inquiries and was excellent about keeping me updated via email as to how the work was going, WIP photos included. She typically got back to me within the day, which was understandably a bit of a challenge considering the time difference (she's in the UK whereas I'm in the western US).

Overall a total doll to work with. :3

Workmanship Aspect (Is the sewing neat? Are things that should be sewn glued or vise versa? Does it fit? Has anything fallen off yet that shouldn’t have):

5

The head itself is a resin base as opposed to foam, which means it's pretty damn durable but seems like it could be hard to work around. The sewing is seamless, most everything on this head looks quite organic. Only upon very close inspection can you see the seams at the base of the back of the ears, and obviously the zipper up the side.

The fit of the head is quite snug but not painful or too tight, and the moving jaw is incredibly sensitive with my own jaw movements as I talk/growl/etc. The only small issue I have is that it's a tad tight against my chin, but there's padding there so it isn't bad unless I've been wearing the head for a few hours without a break.

Breathability is nearly perfect with ventilation through the mouth and nostrils, and if I get particularly hot I can simply 'pant' and that helps cool me down. ;)

Describe your Experience. Pros, Cons, Comments:

I'm entirely satisfied with my head, and having been a fan of Faruku's work for some time now, glad to say I had a builder of such talent take on my character! She was fast, knowledgeable, friendly, and I will definitely be recommending her work to other furs in the future. :D

Name of Artist: Stitch Star Fursuits

Character/species commissioned (link to photo/concept art): I commissioned a partial of my primary character "Luna": http://www.furaffinity.net/view/7862047/  with "Follow Me" eyes, a semi-movable jaw, hand paws with arms included up to the shoulder, and a tail. No feetpaws.

Is the item old or new (if old, how long have you had it/when was it made?) This partial was made brand new.

--Grade each below aspect on a scale of 1 (worst) to 5 (best)--

Visual Aspect (does it match the concept art? Is it consistent with other
items the maker has produced? Is it visually pleasing overall?): 5/5
The fur on the partial is a little more "orange" than I had anticipated, but if that's anyone's fault it's mine, as the maker showed me pictures of the fur she was going to use before she ordered it for approval, and I did. I do admit, the character's shade of brown is probably not common, so it's probably as close as I was going to get.  The follow-me eyes are very well-made, and everything else matches perfectly to the character, right down to the notch in her ear. I was very surprised and pleased that she included that.

Service Aspect (Deadlines. Communication. Little extras.):  5/5
The absolute deadline for this fursuit was going to be for Furfright (October 26th), I knew it probably would not take nearly that long, but I set it for that anyways, just in case. The suit was commissioned in late April, and was finished by early June. They were very communicative and polite with me, asking for approval on all furs they were going to use, and any notes I sent with questions or inquiries about the suit (payments, etc...) were answered within a day or so. I didn't expect immediate response, as the account was a secondary fursuit-making account. But I was very pleased that they kept me updated. They also had the status of my suit updated every other day in the Commission queue in their journal. I did not ask for WIP pictures, but it was an option.
Workmanship Aspect (Is the sewing neat? Are things
that should be sewn glued or vise versa? Does it fit? Has anything
fallen off yet that shouldn’t have): 4.5/5
'When I first opened the box, one of her canines had fallen off. I immediately took it out and repaired it with super glue, and checked the other teeth. The rest were fine. I can only assume it fell off from being knocked about in the mail. The head fits perfectly fine, but the wrist part on the hand paws is a little narrow, it fits perfectly around my wrist, but it's difficult to fit my hand through that part. They fit just fine, it just takes a little effort to put them on. But at least the snug fit means they will not slide off. So it is not a big problem or anything.

As someone who admires and has done a lot of research on fursuits, I did do a thorough inspection on the rest of her. Everything else seems secure and nicely made. The stitching is neat and secure, anything that is glued is glued neatly without any showing (there were some loose bits of dry hot glue around her eyes, but it easily came off and was brushed away no problem), No foam is showing anywhere, and nothing seems loose or about to fall apart. Aside from the tooth incident, it is well made.

Describe your Experience. Pros, Cons, Comments:
Overall I enjoy the style of this fursuit maker, and it is truly a shame that they don't get more business than they do. Their work is adorable and very good, and I would love to see more fursuits by this person. I will definitely be going back to them if ever I want another fursuit.

TLK fan Character Suit- lion by PinkGecko

Name of Artist:  Pink Gecko Productions

It really looks much better than in these photos, it looks very scruffy here but the fur is very soft and well shaved. I just need some help getting some photos taken.(I'm seriously ill so every day things can be tough!) This pic just does not show off the suit very well at all!

Is the item old or new (if old, how long have you had it/when was it made?)
About a month old- I've worn it one VERY hot afternoon just for fun in my neighbourhood and one day while I had to be in hospital for some days to pay a short visit some of the younger patients. :)

Visual Aspect (does it match the concept art? Is it consistent with other items the maker has produced? Is it visually pleasing overall?): 4.8
I think it looks wonderful! This is the first time I have been in contact with a fursuit of my own or anyone else so I had no idea what to expect. I had a hard time finding someone willing to work with a mostly black character. One of the other major challenges was I wanted the suit to have a TLK style blended with realism. We started off trying to use taxidermy supplies but in the end PG ended up having to do all the crafting.
You can see that EN has some very specific face markings and that PG did a wonderful job getting them down. The black outline around the nose and eyebrows are a unique touch which I think is just brilliant to make him look his TLK-based self!

Just having the two bottom teeth show with the tongue is perfect for the TLK style smile:
http://www.mylionking.com/resources/site_images/lk_screengrab_195.jpg

Two minor deviations from on model:
  • the 'whites' of 'Less' eyes are actually pale yellow, which is important to his character but very often missed. We had talked about this detail but it was late in the build and there wasn't much PG could do. It's no biggie at all.
  • The mane is a little flat to the head. I do plan to have the mane redone at some point to be more Simba-ish, a little fluffier. It's fine though, just not exactly to character.

Service Aspect (Deadlines. Communication. Little extras.): 5
Okay, it took about a year from initial contact to receiving the partial. I had never asked for a deadline and had done some travelling which had me away and been frequently very seriously ill so really the wait was 100% non-issue for me. Around the six month mark they had hoped to have the suit done in a couple weeks but it ended up being much more time, again allow me to reiterate there was no deadline and that I specifically said I did not mind waiting.
With having to do some experimenting to get the style of the suit down some extra time is very understandable.

Shipping was fast and the shipping system with the great instructions for unpacking was really useful- especially for a total fursuit virgin!

Communication very pleasant, artist very easy to work with and willing to talk through a vision and experiment to make that vision happen.

Workmanship Aspect (Is the sewing neat? Are things that should be sewn glued or vise versa? Does it fit? Has anything fallen off yet that shouldn’t have) 5
The sewing is very good, nothing I can see that stands out as poor; also there are no glue blobs, no gaps in stitching. Fur is quality and does not shed excessively(great to not have a billion white hairs on the black part and vice versa). Even the ears, which are mostly hidden, were created with obvious care.
The hand paws were made and padded with a clever design to be spreadable to give mobility to the fingers but also to be shaped and able to fit neatly together like the tidy shape of TLK style lion paws.
The tail is a taxidermy lion blank with a wonderful, very neat job of furring and tufting it.

The head is foam with no covering over the foam but is extremely comfortable and the way PG insets their eyes gives a nice look to head and I have great visibility.(I have some significant vision loss due to illness anyways). I find that with both the mouth open and the eyes I can get a good view of where I am going and what is directly in front of me.
It's a little hot but not nearly as bad as I had been bracing myself for wearing a suit for the first time. It's honestly very comfy!

The paws fit very well as do the feet.

There is a flaw like a divot in one of the latex/cast pawpads where there must have been a small bubble in the mould but these were purchased by PG from someone else, not made by them and so not their fault. Plus, no one is going to notice it!

Describe your Experience. Pros, Cons, Comments:

Pro:
  • Quality work
  • Attention to detail
  • VERY reasonable price(under $500)
  • Nice artist all ways around, an enjoyable experience
  • Artist willing to work and experiment to bring a character to life
  • Great packaging when shipping
Con:
  • Going to have to tweak the mane, no big deal.

Very, very pleased and would recommend Pink Gecko Productions highly!

No matter how crappy I feel or how crummy a day I'm having seeing EN smiling at me from my dresser always makes me smile, too.

--Grade each below aspect on a scale of 1 (worst) to 5 (best)--
Visual Aspect (does it match the concept art? Is it consistent with other items the maker has produced? Is it visually pleasing overall?): 5. The head looks amazing and it definately reads as my character. It's very symmetrical and the fur is trimmed nicely.

Service Aspect (Deadlines. Communication. Little extras.): 5. Ee was amazing with communicating to me. She gave me plenty of progress photos, and took my opinions very seriously. She kept me in the loop and went out of her way to include handpaws and a badge that wasn't part of the original deal, as well as using her own supplies too.

Workmanship Aspect (Is the sewing neat? Are things that should be sewn glued or vise versa? Does it fit? Has anything fallen off yet that shouldn’t have): 4. The sewing is very neat and so is the shaving. There is one part just by the corner of the mouth thats a little bald but you have to get pretty close to notice it. There's also a little place where the glue on the inside of the mouth pulled away but it's an incredibly easy fix.

Describe your Experience. Pros, Cons, Comments: There are pretty much nothing but pros here. I almost never had to ask for updates, and the only time I did, the head was already done, and she got back to me pretty much the same day anyway, and provided me with quick snapshots before taking proper pictures. She was incredibly friendly, nice, and I would commission her again in a heartbeat if I could. She took my messy unfinished piece of work and turned it into something worth keeping around, and the improvement is absolutely amazing.

Final Grade (out of 5): 5. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a suit. The entire experience was very pleasant.

These matched perfectly to what I imagined as a new partial. relay went above what i could have hoped for visually any way.
Service Aspect (Deadlines. Communication. Little extras.):  3/5
There was no set deadline for it to be done. very quick to reply quite helpful when i first commissioned  her but whent down hill as i told her of the not glued tail coming apart.

She kept in communication with me very well. Keeping me well-informed on the progress of the partial
Workmanship Aspect (Is the sewing neat? Are things
that should be sewn glued or vise versa? Does it fit? Has anything

There  was no sewing  just hot gluing and lots of it . You can hardly tell where was any care taken . The hand paws where relay the only saving grace of the suit as they where the only part that did not repairing after the first use. saying that the tail was one solid piece of foam with fur pulled over and hot glued together hence splitting down the middle before i even got to use it. the head had a very badly shaven muzzle bald in places and lacking in length of fur round the neck
( very short ) plus eyes coming apart and falling out and needing repairing  twice .

My only complaint is how a £300 quote turned in to a £500 and rising black hole
Describe your Experience. Pros, Cons, Comments:

The maker was very friendly and flexible throughout the start of the  process. very quick responses via email always willing to take any thing in good or bad.

Communication was excellent. They kept in contact with me throughout start of the progress.

I was  for ever repairing or paying some one to fix/replace parts from the partial  after builder was told of faults just went down hill and i was to told to stop contacting her.

All in all a lot of the fault/blame  is on me and solely me for jumping in after my first furmeet i commissioning her i was offered to send them back via postage for repairs  but  i had little hope i would get them back in any speedy manor as i had to go pick them up after paying postage twice.

Spitz Bat Fursuit Paws

Name of Artist: Stuffed Panda Studios
Character/species commissioned (link to photo/concept art): Items commissioned were a pair of pink bat paws for my bat partial Spitz. There was no concept art, just the color description (With a link to the DF fur that was needed) and a description, which was a pair of paws with bat wings attached under the forearm. These matched perfectly to what I imagined as new paws for Spitz. My favorite is the swirl design on her pawpads. I get a lot of comments on those because of how unique they are! I honestly didn't expect her to keep those from the old paws, I expected regular green pawpads. I was very happy when I saw those.
Service Aspect (Deadlines. Communication. Little extras.):  5/5
There was no set deadline for these to be done. They were a casual commission that I wanted to go along with my side project of re-modeling the fursuit overall. But the completion was very speedy. The quote was initially put in for the paws about May or June-ish, and the paws were completed by early August.  Which to me, is very speedy work. I was very pleased and surprised how quickly they were finished.

She kept in communication with me very well. Keeping me well-informed on the progress of the paws, and always double-checking on what I wanted.

Workmanship Aspect (Is the sewing neat? Are things
that should be sewn glued or vise versa? Does it fit? Has anything
fallen off yet that shouldn’t have): 5/5
The sewing was very neat and secure. You can hardly tell where any seams are. The white claws are attached tightly and very well, and so far have not even loosened or damaged at all, despite my affinity for clacking them on surfaces xD

My only complaint is how easy the wings themselves will get folded and wrinkle. It isn't any fault of the maker's, it's just the material that they are made from. Nothing a quick trip on the ironing board can't fix!
Describe your Experience. Pros, Cons, Comments:

The maker was very friendly and flexible throughout the entire process. They graciously allowed a payment plan (with a down payment of course), and was very lenient about how much I could afford to pay her a week before payment was made in full.

Communication was excellent. They kept in contact with me throughout the progress of the batpaws, including verifying the color fur that I wanted, and giving me an accurate deadline as to when she'd be finished (which she was finished way before that time).
Final Grade (out of 5): 5/5
I was very happy working with this maker. They were friendly, flexible, their prices are very reasonable and overall it was a pleasure doing business with them. I hope to commission many more things from the Stuffed panda sometime soon!

Visual Aspect (does it match the concept art? Is it consistent with other items the maker has produced? Is it visually pleasing overall?):
5: I absalutley adored the suit, the coloures are very vibrant and rich exactly how i imagined it and matches the ref sheet ni on perfectly,
the only slight gripe would be that the hair isnt the exact style of my ref sheet however it still looks sexy as heck and am more than happy with it <3
Service Aspect (Deadlines. Communication. Little extras.):
5: Excellent Shirik lives a few blocks away from me so it was easy to communicate between us and organise anything that needed doing.

Workmanship Aspect (Is the sewing neat? Are things that should be sewn glued or vise versa? Does it fit? Has anything fallen off yet that shouldn’t have):
5: The suit fits perfectly, possibly the best suit iv ever worn to date (after being a fur for 7 years nearly) the head is spacious but dosnt wobble about and fits snuggly without restricting your face, and has nice ventalation, the feet and hands where perfect fits and stayed on snuggly, the body suit was perfectly designed a little restrictive around one of the arms but nothing so bad id complain about it. The suit is very sturdy and shows how much effort shirik has put in, all the lineing has been reinforced and tripple stitched so i dont see it falling apart any time soon. There was an issue with there not being enough fur on the feet and around the neck hwoever that has promtly been adjusted and now fits perfectly <3.

Shirik has been a star to comission, i dont think i can fault her on anything, from the work she has done she has shown professionlism beyond what i could of hoped for and id gladly place her up with some of the bigger named makers and if i ever look for another suit im pretty sure i know who im gunna go to.

5:Matches the concept art that was given with artistic freedom with creation of the character and the fursuit; the style of fursuit and other items that she has produced matched exactly to details that were specified by the concept art. It is most than just visually pleasing; it is near perfect.

Service Aspect (Deadlines. Communication. Little extras.):
5: Excellent service, more than awesome communication, multiple pictures of work in progress. Deadlines were met two weeks in advance!

Workmanship Aspect (Is the sewing neat? Are things that should be sewn glued or vise versa? Does it fit? Has anything fallen off yet that shouldn’t have):
5: All of the sewing is strong and well put together. All of the stitches were well hidden with different kinds of fur textures. Zipper was hidden well in the front of the body.
The head! There isn’t enough that I can say about the head: excellent vision, breathable and fits perfect!

After commissioning Bella Coyote, I have not found an excellent fursuit maker, but a good friend. She has a lot of talent, and is willing to go the extra mile to make her customers happy. She is an excellent communicator in and up to the completion of your character. I cannot wait to see what she goes next!
